When considering a job ask how often the fleet trucks are replaced. Newer trucks can be more fuel efficient, and have less wear and tear damage on them. There is nothing worse for a JD Truck Training Centre driver than being stuck in a small town waiting for a simple repair to be made.
Well after 5 or 6 more hours you finally get your load unloaded. This is probably 12:00 midnight by now and going on 3 days with no sleep,no eat,no shower, and guess what you still have a half hour of driving left to hopefully get into a truck stop and parked.
This is very possible. I have met a lot of truckers that didn't go to a Truck driving school. They learned it right at home growing up. They either grew up on a farm, or their dad took them on the road trucking. These guys who grew up on trucking really have the advantage with the experience they learned through the years.

Upon discharge from active duty he was assigned to Fort Hamilton as I had been. Living in Brooklyn it was logical that he would spend his six years of active army reserve at this fort. Remember, ask anything and everything BEFORE you sign the paper work. Also, take the contract home and read every word, very carefully. If something is unclear, ask someone outside of the school. Go to an accredited truck training center or driving school! Learn the whole bases of pro trucking! And make sure you choose a school or training center which is officially certified by the Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI).
